A Tournament Worthy Of Pageantry - Centurion - 03-26-2025
{Scene: Tudor Stage in Mount Hope, Pennsylvania}
Flourish of trumpets. Fan adoration as Centurion steps onto the stage in royal garb.
Thine fellow humble hearts, look upon thee as the dawn of battle doth approach.
‘Tis within three sunsets that I mount upon thy steed and risk life and limb to ensure the combatants of other realms shall perish!
I shalt not deceive ye. Tis been many a month since I have last rode into battle. The cold winds of age have not been kind to one such as myself. Alas, were a better man to appear before me to ensure a victory over the wicked forces ascending upon the Realm, I would graciously retire to my homestead and sleep a thousand sleeps.
Tis a pity, then, that I look upon the other combatants and see only feeble, lily-livered fools masquerading as champions. Is it to be believed that any of these unable worms are worthy of the title of Knight, thrust upon thee for being victorious in an honorable and ferocious battle? Methink’st tis would be an insult to the very horse they sit upon.
Though my bones may be old, my tis but a strengthened muscle, teeming with knowledge of warfare. I was there when the rules upon wish this battle were conceived! Tis I who participated in the first ever joust competition against Sir George Hackenschmidt!
My only remorse prior to this competition is that one must waste a good jousting pole on faces so loathsome that they do not deserve the sun which casts upon them. Many a great fools shalt attempt to remove me from my horse, but each retched creature shalt be the next to experience thine…
