There is nothing.

True chaos, only a blackened void. Gone is yesterday and time passes seamlessly over skin veiled eyes. Heart and breath have slowed, his blood cooled. Muscles...relaxed. Under Somnus' spell Alias' slumbers in the delusional security of blankets wrapped snug.

There is nothing.

Then Consciousness. Perhaps the tricks of Morpheus or perhaps not, the dreamer never knows until they have awoken.

Senses regained, there is first a touch. Gentle against his cheek a hand is placed, it's caress that tilting his stubbled face from against a pillow. Heavy lids refused to budge, but his chin not so much.

Then smell, a hint of Ivory and Rose. Divine but not overpowering, the Dreamer God uses this new sensation to form his pictures in Alias' minds eye. A shadowed silhouette, clearly feminine and one the Hunter of Men had seen before.

Sound of course would be next, but not before that smell grew stronger and his face was tickled by fallen strands of brown he couldn't see. Ears involuntarily perked as Grecian honey was poured smooth and slow...

"Hello Dove...it seems we have a date. Keep it safe and don't be late"

No more and no less was said and in payment for the intrusion of his senses taste was gifted. Pressure against lips and the lingering effect of flesh against flesh was alm he would have once sight tried to get it's fill.

In the dark of the night, he thrashed. His legs kicked out at the world and the blankets fell from his body, tainted as they were; violated as he was. He was safer that way - secure while exposed. A contradiction.

The God of Sleep understood as he battled between two opposing interpretations. Sumnos sought the sleeping man's downfall. Hypnos remembered Zeus's warning to Aphrodite. Reality would fall somewhere in the middle.

The man tossed over on his bed of straw. One shoulder in the air - a guard against further intrusion.

For now.
