After Shane has confirmed the pin, Mastermind gets up, and does a little dance.

"Wahoo, I've waited so long to get this belt, it is now, mine, mine, mine."

Shane hands Mastermind the Extreme Belt, and Mastermind holds it aloft. He quickly looks around, and grabs his bag from the wall. He takes out a t-shirt, and drapes it over Mystica.

Mastermind then runs away as fast as he can with the extreme belt, that he has been after for months.

For a moment after Mastermind has left the room, Mystica lies face-up, eyes closed to the world. Then, realizing the new champion has exited, his eyes flutter open. Much to the contrary of expectation, the Ancient flashes a bittersweet smile.

"Glad that's done, then," he says as he rises to his feet, casually brushing any debris off of his clothes. "The first step in the processs of letting go, I suppose."

He pauses at these words, suddenly struck by a thought. To give it all for some semblance of a greater good. It feels so out of his nature. Altruism, he had always thought, was the refuge of the weak trying to cut their inevitable losses. But now, in the act itself, he wasn't quite sure how to feel.

A quick glance down at the shirt offered by Mastermind brings the Old One back to his senses.

"Well, I can only hope he enjoys that hunk of trash title."

"Oh, my dear, dear...begrudging acquaintance...I thought you of all people would understand the circumstances. Catch me with my theatre mask -- my persona, if you will -- in the act itself. It's all done for a reason. If there were one thing I hope you've learned about me at this stage in our "working relationship," it's that everything I do is premeditated. The world is all a stage -- mine -- and I make my every move with purpose.

There are things at work here larger than you or I alone, used-to-be-spaceman. I'm doing what is right for myself and my associates."

He paused once more, pondering his own words. Inconceivable. Of all human emotions, the Ancient was least familiar with empathy, let alone benevolence. These actions that disturbed him so greatly were done for the benefit of those who had come to follow him closely. And there was one in particular: his handpicked vision of the future. With the cogs in motion, he could not afford to be impeded. Zero hour. Potential annihilation.
