>>>>>

As the XWF house show begins on the road to Saturday Night Savage, it rises from a commercial break on local channels only to see 'The Radical', who was not expected to make an appearance, standing in the center of the ring with a microphone.

The Radical
There is a Golden Age in every great business model. Not every single business achieves it, but every great industry has a few years at minimum where growth and finance eclipse the wildest expectations. XWF had outlasted most of the competitors through the years because it has performed when no one thought it could, bursting through the Xtreme Professional Wrestling walls and becoming more than another rolled over experiment by the Russo's and Heyman's and Bischoff's of the world. All men with great idea's and given a chance during the Golden Age of the industry, but who ultimately failed when it came to practical application of the simplest things. How to retain talent, how to make the talent you do have happy, how not to appease everyone but do what is best for the audience, and many lessons that Vince McMahon learned years before from his daddy all too well. The learning curve came and went for those, though, many still work or have worked for Vinnie Mac since. XWF succeeded where they couldn't, in vision and changing the dynamic instead of competing against one already there. Men like Shane Carwin and Vinnie Lane saw that it survived when all the odds were stacked against it. They kept it alive through the slumping of the industry, where WWE became PG and places like ROH and TNA died out before they even peaked, now shells of their former selves. And what was this all for...? Why do that, for what purpose? Because they knew what most smart men do... that trends ride high and they ride low. And the new Golden Age starts with men like Michael McBride... Chris Chaos... and GABE RENO.

He turns toward the camera and gets cocky, then gestures for responses from the house crowd.

The Radical
They were able to breathe air into something to keep it living and adapting just long enough for the reinforcements to show up. And, boy... have they ever. But where does that start, how did they know what to do? Well, like every great man who knows smart business... they had strong foundations to work from. This is the same foundation that was a risk, but a smart one by Vinnie... you see, he knew that two Golden Stars like me and Chaos, were chomping at the bit to get tag title shots, so he encouraged us by slapping us together and saying HAVE AT IT BOYS HAHAHA! And have at it we will. But one of the oldest tricks, the McMahon's of the world use, is give what is wanted... at... a... cost. And not only a cost to those who want, but at the peak moment to entertain others, you, the audience with the result, win or lose. CHAOS v. RENO for the right to go to the CHAMBER and sniff that UNIVERSAL CROWN! OOOWWWW! What a bold statement to make! What were we gonna do say NO THANK YOU, SIR! OF COURSE NOT. Because we both want tag team gold... we both want to humiliate Trax and Bourbon and lead that division back to a competitive place where Doc and Soldier don't have time to sit around with mimosa's talking about the matches they USED TO HAVE! OHHHH NO! But the match they DO HAVE, or JUST LOST! I will not rest until that is a REALITY! ONLY THEN will the Golden Age return to be as Shane and Vince to carefully CPR'ed back into existence. But the tag division... is only the beginning.

He paces back and forth with a purpose.

The Radical
See, the foundation that Vinnie was using to make such competitive, well rounded moves... is not lost on me. It is true, my good ole step dad Johan was killed playing dirty cards by a variety of gangsters and thugs when I was a boy. But I had an someone step up and take care of me, and lay my foundation that will be at the forefront of how and why I beat CHRIS CHAOS ON SAVAGE! My older brother, Dale, was that man. He taught me hard lessons and never let me slip by with the bare minimum in effort, rationality, or RADICALITY. I want you to take a look at something... MY FOUNDATION! THIS IS WHAT WILL MAKE US ALL BETTER! LEARN FROM IT, FUCKING EMBRACE IT!

He hops out and grabs a fold out chair and brings it into the ring, parking it as the X-Tron begins to roll; Gabe's house show takeover is upon us.

>>

The shot arrives at Gabriel Reno in a bath robe looking into a mirror shortly after his stunt in Lane's office. He mends a few cuts on his face from shaving. A large sigh, then he walks out, seeing the gun belt laying on the foot of the bed where he had left it before the shower. He shakes his head; a second later his cell phone begins to ring and vibrate on the bathroom counter, "The Golden Age" by Woodkid plays until he picks it up, accepting the call with a finger slide.

The Radical
Yeah, it's Gabe?

The muffled other end is unclear, Gabe just listens. Getting up and throwing on a black shirt that says "WHAT, BITCH?" on the front, and "RADICAL" in gold font on the back.

The Radical
Okay, okay, look, calm the fuck down, Nancy, I'll be there as soon as I can...

Urgently the voice responds, seemingly not satisfied with his answer.

The Radical
NANCY, how can I get there any sooner than "as fast as I FUCKING CAN?!" Take a fucking pill.

Gabe grabs some stuff off the dresser and bails in a hurry.

>>

A shot from outside arrives at a line of winding two story condominium’s; white one on the corner, a beige gated one to the immediate right, followed by a pale blue condo with palm tree’s all around the property. The view from a dimly lit hallway inside is the focus as the tall wooden door swings open from the inside revealing a woman coming in from the cold and putting her purse and keys on the side table. She removes her coat and opens a hall closet, placing it on a hanger then up next to some other coats. Closing the door she seems visibly upset with her left hand over her mouth and right hand still on the closet knob. Her knees weaken slowly leading her closer to the dusty wooden patterned laminate floor with her knee’s buckling beneath. Sniffling and tears consume her; finally maintaining a moment of pause, her composure returns long enough to get up, wipe the tears and walk through a rounded doorway into the kitchen. Opening the refrigerator, she pulls out a handle of what looks like tea. She walks into a small dining area with a round glass table, four beige chairs, and a plant centerpiece... before sitting down with a sigh.

Dale Reno
Home late…

Nancy quickly turns in a startled fashion to see the silhouette of a man appearing to be her husband, arms crossed with reading glasses on and what looks to be a novel under his right arm.

Nancy Reno
Holy shit, Dale!

Dale Reno
Sorry I didn’t mean to sneak up, I heard the door open and I came from the office to check. I was standing just long enough to see you upset in the hallway, though.

Nancy Reno
I don’t need any more surprises today, sweetheart, I’m sorry.

Turning to grab a glass and poor the tea.

Dale Reno
Why were you upset Nance?

Nancy Reno
Just a stressful day, this campaign is very busy… takes a toll.

Dale is leaning in the rounded doorway and adjusts his glasses before crossing his arms.

Dale Reno
Getting home at this hour and leaving before I even wake up it’s awfully hard to rest. Why don’t you go upstairs and sleep, I’ll do a few loads of laundry, clean up down here a bit.

Nancy takes a sip of tea and passes him in the doorway, grabbing her purse off of the side table she’d placed it on and giving him a quick kiss simultaneously turning to go upstairs.

Nancy Reno
I don’t deserve you.

She looks unsure at first, then nervously she walks up the stairs past a few bedrooms, she shuts the bathroom door, and enters a sprawling bedroom with a king sized bed in the center and first class amenities in every corner of the room. She gets down to her slip and sips more tea while pulling her cell out of her purse and checking her daily reminders; now setting it next to the glass of tea while entering the bathroom to freshen up before bed. A few minutes pass ending with her reemerging and getting under the sheets; turning over to the left and closing her eyes a big sigh of the day’s troubles rolling off of her shoulders. A pink light notification on her cell goes off; her eyes clinch with the inherit decision to let it go until morning, or resume her long godforsaken day by checking to see what it is.

Nancy Reno
Oh, holy Hell…

A hand reaches in front of her as she reached to grab it.

Dale Reno
I’ll put this in the office so you can actually rest, goodnight sweetheart.

Dale leans down and kisses her on the forehead; Nancy’s initial expression to argue, then realizing it’s a losing battle, she closes her eyes. Dale quietly closes the bedroom door and walks back into the office. He closes the office door behind him, turning off the main office light, sitting in a leather chair and opting to flick on a more discreet desk lamp.

Dale Reno
Ah, alrighty.

He grabs the novel he had been reading, and tries to pick back up into the literary world; squinting, then trying to make his eyes run across each line, but no absorption. Eyes scanning but the look in his eyes says it all; it’s not working. He thinks for a moment, is the concern for Nancy that strong; or is it his eyes jumping to another point beyond the book on the desk. Nancy’s silver phone flashes pink again, the light indicator dancing in Dale’s view from just over the novel as if it were a spotlight instructing him of where to go next. Like a hero signal in the sky, he feels compelled toward it. Her phone flashing constantly, and he never thought twice about it before, because busy work is busy work at home too. This time it was different, he felt an urge in his stomach and a pop of adrenaline in his muscles. Dale opened it.

Dale Reno
(To himself) What are you doing, Dale? Damnit.

Pressing the dialpad.

Reviewed Message 1; Gabe Reno
Nancy, we have worked together well, let’s keep things in perspective and get done what needs to be done, regardless of Dale.

Dale’s gut clinches as his worst fears could be realized. He proceeds wondering how far the wormhole goes.

Reviewed Message 2; Executive Assistant
So 7pm works for Wednesday? Let me know, these guys get very antsy with little notice! Seeya tomorrow, big day Nance!

He sighs for a moment then taps the option for the new message.

New Voice Message; Gabe Reno
Don’t worry, I won’t tell him about this, I’m sure that would go over well. Stay calm, I'll be there. You have my word.

The shot switches the Dale’s eyes twitching with uncertainty and concern having seen his wife so upset when she entered and now knowing she was shining him on.

Dale Reno
Oh, Nancy, what in the world is going on…

After considering her position in what may or may not be the case; Dale considers how to not make it obvious that he went through her phone, closes it and puts it back down on the desk. Several moments pass, Dale picks up his book and brings it to up to read, then suddenly tosses it back down. A squint of distaste in his eyes the focus before anger simmers and he gets up; leaving the room.

>>

The sun shines brightly into the lens, leading to a steady panning shot of the sun falling above an urban setting with tall buildings in the distance. Laughing and the echoing sound of a ball bouncing on concrete becomes the focus, panning down to two teenage boys on a basketball court giving every inch of energy to stop the other. The taller of the two backs down and turns to miss a basket; the smaller boy grabs the rebound and goes in to lay it up before getting leveled by the other boy.

Taller Boy (Dale)
No way. You aren’t getting that!

Smaller Boy (Gabe)
Always pushing, you never play fair. Afraid you’re going to lose one of these days? Knock it off.

Dale hovers over him not allowing him to get back up.

Dale Reno
Oh yeah? What are you gonna do about it?

Gabe Reno
Stop it!

Little Gabe struggles to escape, then gets up as Dale runs after him. A fence blocks Gabe's exit, just then he turns around and clocks Dale with a right hand… who immediately crumbles to the court.

Gabe Reno
I told you to stop! Stupid… are you okay?

No response follows. Gabe kicks the fence in frustration, meanwhile the gate door swings open to the left of them, a few older boys of high school age enter the court. The biggest looks down as his two buddy’s run over to warm up on the court.

Older Boy
Wow… did you do this?

Gabe Reno
I had no choice.

Older Boy
Well, I’ve seen this kid down here before, he was picking on my little cousin once, and I ran him off. For all I care, he deserves it.

Gabe Reno
He’s my brother.

Older Boy
Why would you be around with someone like that?

Gabe considers the question, and responds accordingly.

Gabe Reno
No one else talks to me.

Older Boy
You can hang around us if your brother doesn’t get it together, maybe join us for a game.

Gabe Reno
I’d like to, but… I should look after him.

Older Boy
It’d be quick, maybe sitting here for a while will teach him not to pick on his little brother?

Dale begins to move still groggy.

Dale Reno
My jaw hurts Gabe, let’s go back.

Gabe Reno
It wouldn’t hurt if you wouldn’t corner me like that.

Helping his brother up.

Dale Reno
I’m sorry

Seeing the older kid, Dale gets uneasy and begins pulling Gabe with him toward the gate door.

Gabe Reno
He goes where I go… maybe next time.

The older boy squints as if not to fully understand the attachment, he shrugs it off.

Older Boy
Yeah, next time.

Dale slowly walks out with Gabe under his arm supporting him. The older boy runs over to his friends to start playing.

Dale Reno
Nice shot, my face really hurts.

Gabe Reno
Don’t worry Dale, I’ll take care of you, like you always take care of me.

The scene fades with another pan up to the original skyline now a little darker than before.

>>

The scene arrives at Nancy waking up in the morning, reaching for her phone and realizing it isn't there, then remembering that Dale had it before she past out. She gets up cautiously tip toeing to the office where he usually is. He lays on a leather sofa with the novel on his chest. The phone still flashing pink sits on the desk, she walks over and opens it, Dale's eyes begin to peak open behind her. She scrolls a bit then opens unanswered texts.

Missed Text Message 1: Gabe Reno
You call me in a panic saying that Dale is trying to hurt you, then won't answer when I pick up, listen... he wouldn't do that! I came over and knocked but no one answered, and the key was gone... why won't you answer the phone, Nancy!?

Her eyes begin to get teary as she realizes he tried to help her but she fell asleep before he could.

Dale Reno
Nancy, I'm sorry I hit you, but you didn't have to get Gabe involved.

Nancy Reno
Hold on a second…

She turns around startled and begins to back away as he closes in on her and grabs both of her shoulders, pushing them together with force.

Dale Reno
See, you make me do these things because you won't... listen...

He smacks her backhanded across the face and points leaning in to scold her.

Dale Reno
What have I told you...

Nancy Reno
I had no CHOICE! He's the only one who can stand up to you!

Dale wrenches her arm as her phone drops to the ground still illuminated.

Dale Reno
Stand up to me!?

Nancy Reno
Yes! You're a bully, you've always been a bully, DALE! I SHOULDN'T HAVE MARRIED YOU!

Dale Reno
UNGRATEFUL BITCH!?

The camera zooms in on the last things she opened as he rears back to lay into her.

Missed Text Message 2: Gabe Reno
Hey, sorry, I had to break a window to get in... where are you guys? By the way, that sourdough bread in the pantry is heavenly. Where do you shop, Trader Joe's? TTYL.

A hand grabs Dale's just before he can deliver a knock out blow to Nancy for "disobeying" him and being "ungrateful".

Dale Reno
HEY!?

The Radical
No, Dale... you're the BITCH!

Reno punches him in the face as the shot simultaneously flashes back to the boys in the park in the same positions, and Dale falling to the ground.

The Radical
You, okay, Nance!?

Nancy Reno
YES!

She runs and hugs Gabe with tears in her eyes, the camera pans around to should her eyes clinched holding onto him tight.

The Radical
Oh, good!? Hey... Nancy...

Nancy Reno
What, did he get back up?

Now on the other side of the hug, Gabe's face full of guilt.

The Radical
No, I... I may have eat a loaf of you sourdough bread...

Nancy Reno
It's ok.

They finally break the hug, she looks up and smiles.

The Radical
It was good...

Nancy Reno
Yeah.

The scene fades as Dale's shattered glasses lay next to him on the floor, and Gabe sighs looking at his abusive brother, realizing the Golden Age will come again.

>>

The X-Tron stops, back in the ring Gabe looks right into the lens.

The Radical
In the face of things we would rather not see, like the fall of so many other places... The Golden Age always comes back around... so surprised us. It isn't always the best thing for everyone. But if you are sure of yourself, you can overcome anything and peak again to be more than a rescuer, or a preventer of abuse... but whatever you see fit. See those things my brother instilled in me are there, aggression, hard work, not putting up with bullshit. But I have sprinkled in my own bit of Reno. Now I stand for more than being a bully, or a piece of shit. I stand for the rise, the inevitable gains the industry will have in the near future. Chaos and I will boost rating for Lane, for XWF, for Professional Wrestling... because, we are team players. Then out team will go on to do great things.

Just then he turns quickly back around.

The Radical
In the face of adversity, and in the heat of the moment, you will see us battle like two men have not since the mid 90's. Since cages surrounded the rings, blood was spilled for ratings, and the great Nitro/Raw debate was bigger than the Presidential one. For the first time in many years, the beacon of interest, the point of emphasis in sports will once again be wrestling. What will Chaos do to retaliate, what will Reno do to those men in that Chamber... Where will the XWF go when Reno has the belt, Scully is owed a rematch, and Chaos waits in the wing for his shot? Rating will skyrocket like never before... as the headlines read "Doc and Solider bleed all over the ring as they are blinded by the Golden Age". But what will that Golden Age mean, what will it serve to prove... this Saturday alone?

Looking perplexed, then putting the mic back to his lips to answer his own question.

The Radical
In the grand scheme it all sounds great. But our Foundations alone will not win this match. Our heart, our skill, our conditioning, OUR FUCKING WILL... those are the determining factors... this weekend, at least. I am ready to do whatever it takes. Go toe to toe with the hellfire that is Chris Chaos... sounds like fun to me. Are you ready Chaos? Can you feel the heat? Because it's coming. The Golden Age is here.

He drops the microphone with a large audio thud; raising his arms to the crowd with mixed reactions.
