All sorts of bogeymen and literal monsters had played in that canvas playground: werewolves, demons, wizards, zombies—you name it! And yet there was something about the sweat-covered ropes and the blood-stained mat that Kieran found to be a great equaliser, despite the vast and theoretically terrifying power that some of the circus of freaks wielded.
Maybe it was magic.
Magic that Kieran was eager to recapture.
