(Reuters) Professional wrestler Boris, along with his cousin Antoli, are said to be the latest victims of the novel coronavirus.
Slovakia prime minister Peter Pellegrini confirmed this morning that the two tested positive for the virus at Fakultná Nemocnica Nitra Hospital, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 16. The wrestler, contracted with the US based X-Treme Wrestling Federation, was in good spirits when reached for an interview.
"This no big deal!" Boris said via video conference. "Boris has had worse. This not as bad as when Cousin and I woke up in Latvia with no shoes and massive hangover. Blyat, that was crazy."
XWF officials are said to be "monitoring the situation", but at this time, no other personnel have shown symptoms of the disease. Boris has been in Slovakia for the past two weeks.
"We're not cancelling anything right now" XWF spokesperson Steve Sayors said. "We're just asking people to shower. I know it's a difficult concept for most of our roster."
Boris has not been booked for any upcoming shows, and is expected to stay in country for at least the next two weeks.
"Karenvirus (sic) is no match for the blood of Slav Superstar! I ask all my gopnik friends - please bring vodka and mayonez (sic). Boris will be here for a while."
