You knew this was coming. I'll try not to get too sappy and lame.
First and foremost, my time as an active competitor anywhere has come to an end. For now at least. I am pretty well burned out and writing because I have a match has become a chore and something I dread and it has been that way since last fall coinciding with the end of the Thad v Flynn match cycle at Relentless. I have other projects I'm working on elsewhere (one major storyline and a "film" that I'm writing) that do not involve Thad in active competition and I'm not sure when that will change, but I know it will eventually. Might be a month, might be a year, I just don't know. That said, there are things I want to write right effing now and when those things pop up, they'll be here at home.
The XWF is and always will be my home no matter what projects I involve myself in elsewhere. These last (almost) two years have been the absolute most fulfilling period out of ten years (on and off) of e-fedding that I've ever had in this game. The wins and losses never mattered, even though that's easy to say after the fact and I've had far more wins than defeats. It was always about the story. Not the rp story so much as the tv stories. From Chris Page, to the Bastards, Ned Kaye, Flynn, Corey, Doc, Dolly, Chaos, Alias, even the one I told with myself in Duke vs Duke... that's what drives me. It's a lot more fun to work hard and win than to work hard and lose, but again, it's never been about wins and losses.
I love this place. I love the handlers, the characters they play, the mother fuckers that run it. From top to bottom, I can promise you, there is no place like the XWF. There is no place like home.
I owe so many people so much thanks. Those I've mentioned already know how much I love and respect them as handlers and as friends. That said... I need to especially thank Vinnie and Theo. Y'all worked real hard to protect this fed, to protect me from some bullshit even if I didn't really deserve it and I really can't put into words how much that means to me. I hope I proved your instincts right by being a valuable member of this community. Fedheads take a lot of shit and it comes with the territory, but the amount y'all had to put up with simply because I exist was above and beyond. I have deeply regretted my shitty behavior in the past for a long time and I thank you both so much for standing up for me when you shouldn't have had to. I've said it before, but I'll say it here again... I am sincerely truly sorry that I ever thought differently of either of you. You two are aces.
In closing, I might be done with Thad competing in the XWF (for now.) I might be done with Thad on XWF "TV", but I will never leave home. At least, not entirely.
