WWE Championship
John Cena © vs. Daniel Bryan
With special guest referee Triple H
There are a few matches on this card that I am indeed looking forward to, and this is by far the most anticipated one in my eyes. Looking at it from simply the angle of both men being faces, Cena the top dog and still face of the company after being on top of that mountain for a long time, against the most over man in mainstream wrestling at the moment, Daniel Bryan. Adding in the whole McMahon/Bryan angle that lingers in the background and having Triple H as the referee really serves to forward this angle. I got D-Bry winning this, possibly in the same vein as Punk's win at MITB 2011, after attempted interference by McMahon that Cena protests.
An interesting thing that should come out of this match, and likely won't due to WWE's unwillingness (or inability) to really develop the characters of a lot of their talent, let alone management types is the whole Brad Maddox thing. After the main event of Smackdown, they really have two roads they could travel with his character. Either him realizing that following Vince without question only leads to him putting his ass in danger (see dat Kendo Stick shot, that I'm surprised Maddy hasn't made his avatar yet) and starts moving away from Vince and his ideas all together, or strengthening his disdain for Bryan, and giving him a reason to hate the guy other than "My boss doesn't like him." Sadly, I doubt either thing will happen, and they'll act like that never happened despite showing the replay 25 times on the following RAW.
CM Punk vs. Brock Lesnar (with Paul Heyman)
Heyman will distract the ref, Axel will attack Punk, softening him up for the F-5, effectively giving Brock a W and continuing the feud. This really doesn't seem like an angle that would lead to the payoff at the first PPV match. I hope they wouldn't split up Punk and Heyman for a one off match.
World Heavyweight Championship
Alberto Del Rio © vs. Christian
Okay, this is wishful thinking. Christian mark over here. Nothing else to say about the topic.
Ring Of Fire Match
Bray Wyatt vs. Kane
This is Wyatt's first PPV match, I expect a Kane victory as much as I do a clean finish to the Punk/Lesnar match. Now that I say that, watch both of those things happen to spite me.
Cody Rhodes vs. Damien Sandow
Rhodes has looked strong for most of this angle, getting the better of the "Intellectual Savior of the Masses." Sandow gets the win on the PPV, saving him from turning into the second coming of Ziggler with his briefcase.
Dolph Ziggler and Kaitlyn vs. AJ Lee and Big E. Langston
LeeE wins in a match I couldn't be bothered to give a fuck about.
Natalya vs. Brie Bella
Talk about matches I don't give a fuck about. This is on the card, and not on Superstars because? That shitty reality show? Plenty of shilling will happen on commentary and the Bellas will do that Twin Magic thing (despite the pretty big difference between the two now) and get the wins to a resounding "Who gives a fuck?" from the audience.
SummerSlam WWE United State Championship Kickoff Match
Dean Ambrose © vs. Rob Van Dam
No clue what they're doing with this, so I'll just say Ambrose and that will be that.
