I dropped to my knees and shook my head, fighting back my urges and fishing around in my pocket for her message.

"Ally asked me to deliver this to you...I'm so sorry...you took off and it just...your fear was intoxicating...I just lost it. Please...believe me."

He took the note from me and slipped it in his pocket. I could still smell the God that rested just beyond the shadows.

"My mother told me stories of a God named Mystica. Cursed by vampires and demons into a sleep that was meant to last for a million years. It's the only legend that I remember...is...the name you called out...the same God?"

I just needed to know...it was going to bug me until I found out but if he was...then I might need more than just begging for the God's mercy.
