I smiled again and this time, Ally noticed that my chest stopped moving.

"Why aren't you breathing?"

"I'm still a vampire...You're still a human."

Ally understood, she knew it was still painful for me to admit that I was this...damned soul. Cursed to forever walk among humans, aliens, or really...anything that had a pulse.

"As much as I wish for you to join me...on this side of life...I won't take you from the men who love you. I won't damn your eternal soul to walk among the living with a heart that will never beat again. That is something for you to decide...and even then...it's a lot to give up once you see the larger picture."

My black eyes looked back over the lake and I sat on a rather large bolder, still staring at the calm water.

"You would forever be the age you are now, make all the women jealous by never getting a wrinkle and the ones you have, will smooth out. Your skin will be soft as silk but strong as diamonds. We just don't sparkle. You would be forced to watch your friends and your lover grow old and die while you remain young. Eventually, you would be alone with only the others of our kind to remind you that you're never alone as a race...but...it's not as easy as you think. Zak was selfish when he turned me...and Father attempted to make it right...but you can't reverse death...no matter if your the God of the Underworld. Would you believe he even went as far at to call in the God of Death and the God of Destruction?"

I laughed and watched Ally sit next to me, staring between myself and the water.

"Even they couldn't give me back what was stolen. So...I became an Everlasting Demon...The Beloved Angel to my victims. Mother cried...knowing that I would never become what was meant to be...but...that's why she made the deal with the Moon. Grandmother agreed and now...you know why we call you the Moon's Daughter. Your sisters don't even have the powers that you do."

"Really?"

I just nodded, "The Moon can only choose one heir from her line...the blood runs through your family but you were the one she picked. It's just unlocking the demon within before you can truly become the Witch you were meant to be...and you're on the right track."

Finally, I turned my head and looked at my cousin, a soft smile on my face.
