'Dat dialogue 'doe. Guy's a great example of naturalistic sounding dialogue, is what I'm sayin'.

In my experience, no, not anybody can do it... at least not do it right or in an entertaining way. Being able to take a promo of your opponent's and rip it to shreds is an art, and we value that art very highly here actually.

Also! Keep this in mind... There are two types of RPers who get their work ripped up by their opponents: The type who just get upset and stop trying, and the type who scrutinize exactly HOW their opponent was able to do that, and then patch those exploits in their future work while also picking up a little natural ability to start ripping other peoples promos to shreds.

ALWAYS be the one who seeks to improve at every turn, taking any and everything an opponent throws at you and figuring out how that opponent was able to do it. Recognizing those openings is the only way to make your work a lot more bullet proof, and makes you that much better at helping the next guy learn this ability when you rip them to shreds for the first time. We all teach and learn from each other, if we allow it.

True...but it's basically just say "your promo dum" in the not creative way two times in a row. Nothing new. 100 percent response too. Not trying to sound like an asshole either...been a bad day. Depression and anxiety...not a good mixture

There are a lot of ways to do effective writing. Some people master trash talk and just run with it and that's ok. I'm not saying that's what Pest is doing here, but his dialogue is very tight and natural and his response to the whole problem of "some guy just murdered another guy on camera" was really funny.

I simply disagree with Erik here. I don't see at all where it's JUST ripping the promo. There's story throughout every RP I have seen of the guy's work, and it's well done. There is a LOT to be said with being able to get across character building and storyline with very little. It's actually impressive to be able to pull it off!

I get a good sense of who the Petalance character is just from his dialogue, and from the minimal scenery we get cued in on. It's very "show me, don't tell me" and that's good work.

Look at the latest one against BX3. It's hard to work against dumbass joke characters like them because they are so ridiculous, but he pulls it off.

You don't have to write long exposition to tell a story, there are ways like this to do it too.
