The man couldn't believe what he was hearing. Utterly exasperated, he takes a deep breath and states.


"The name is Donovan Blackwater. There, now we're not strangers, you can take the dollar."


Donovan says this as he slaps the dollar bill into David's hand, promptly shaking it.


"I'm David Whitesand."


"You sure are."


Turning around, David slides the dollar into the slot on the vending machine and selects his chips, watching eagerly as they drop. Then he fetches the package and moves aside. Donovan obtains his water, pivots on his heels and brushes past David but Mr. Whitesand is not finished.
