|-| Shawn Steele has been a busy man in recent weeks. A heartbreaking loss at the hands of John Austin was followed up by a victory over Ricky Desmond (representing The Connection) that, sadly, was sealed due to the brutal beating that he took at the hands of the previously mentioned John Austin, Andrew Morrison and Andrew Aldway. But Shawn Steele promised he would have his revenge and last Monday night on Madness, he got that revenge. Heading into the tournament this past Monday night, Connection member Andrew Aldway was one of the favorites to walk away as the Number One Contender to the XWF European Championship, but just as he promised to do, Shawn Steele made certain that that outcome was avoided. With both Aldway and Evertrust down on the mat, along with the referee, John Austin made his way out to come to the aid of his Connection mate, smashing Evertrust in the head with a crowbar. That’s when Shawn Steele emerged from the sold out crowd in ____, attacking John Austin before cracking both Austin and Andrew Aldway in the head with the crowbar before dragging Evertrust, the eventual winner of the tournament, over top of the unconscious body of Andrew Aldway, giving Evertrust the victory and fulfilling his promising of making sure The Connection had a bad night. With Shawn Steele waging a one man war against The Connection, a war he will most certainly lose, the question of “why?” has been uttered more than once. And, it’s for this reason that his presence was requested .. emphatically requested, at a sit down interview with XWF’s newest backstage interviewer, Chad Lewis for an exclusive interview to be uploaded to XWF.com. What could go wrong? |-|

The scene begins in a nice but modestly furnished room in the XWF headquarters building. It looks like it could be used as a conference room normally, but various XWF.com banners have been placed around the room along with two plush leather chairs. The two chairs sit facing each other, about five feet apart, separated by a small wooden table with a pitcher of water and two empty glasses. Sitting in the chair on the right side of the screen is Shawn Steele, dressed in plain black shirt and pants, the staples still in his skull. Sitting across from him is Chad Lewis, also in black pants along with an XWF logoed polo shirt. The camera then changes angles to focus in on Lewis as he begins the interview.
Chad Lewis: Hello wrestling fans and welcome to my exclusive, one on one sit down interview with the man who less than one week ago was, for lack of a better term, demolished by Ricky Desmond and The Connection live on Monday Night Madness, Shawn Steele. We’re being brought to you exclusively right here, on the online home of the X-treme Wrestling Federation, XWF.com. Now, Shawn. You’ve been here for a couple of months now and, frankly, you’ve yet to really make an impact. You’ve yet to distinguish yourself from all of the other XWF Superstars. And on top of that we, for the most part, don’t really know anything about you. So I hope you don’t mind, but I want to get in depth with you here this evening to give the XWF fans a glimpse into the life of Shawn Steele.
Chad Lewis stops talking, looking for Shawn Steele to have a response, but Shawn just sits there staring at him for a moment before finally speaking.
Shawn Steele: You can’t actually be serious Lewis.
This time it’s Chad Lewis who has a blank stare on his face, clearly not understanding what Shawn Steele doesn’t seem to be getting.
Chad Lewis: I don’t...
Shawn Steele: Is that what this stupid interview is all about? You want me to tell you all about waking up on Christmas morning, 1988? Maybe you want to hear about my first school dance and how I got to third base with Erica Phillips. Or should we go all the way back to my first kiss and gossip like school girls? Nobody cares, Lewis. Nobody cares about what I did ten years ago. And nobody cares about what you did ten years ago either. Nobody. Cares.
Chad Lewis: With all due respect Shawn, you yourself have brought up your past on more than one occasion. But I was more curious about your previous experience inside of the ring, prior to coming to the X-treme Wrestling Federation.
Shawn Steele: So I should be like the rest of these clowns around here, tell you and everybody else who will listen what a badass I was in other promotions? I should puff my chest out and talk about how I’m a trained Mixed Martial Artist? Why would I do that? What’s the point in that, Chad? I talk about how I broke Jon Burton’s neck back in the Pro Wrestling Alliance, and suddenly Luca Arzegotti is going to be terrified of me? Yeah, I don’t think so. I don’t think Luca is going to give a shit about what I did seven years ago. Does Sid Feder care that I’m a nine time National Championship Wrestling World Heavyweight Champion? Does John Madison respect the fact that in Pinnacle Championship Wrestling, I recruited and then masterminded the takeover of the entire organization when I formed The Enterprise? With all due respect, to myself, I really think John Madison, The King of the XWF, has bigger issues to deal with. For now.
Chad Lewis: I think we’ll be revisiting that interesting statement a little later. But for right now, I’d like to continue to delve a little deeper into your past. I think we can skip past the high school years, and you clearly don’t think your past accomplishments have any bearing on your XWF career, but what about your personal life? Your life away from the ring? We know a lot about the personal lives of quite a few of the Superstars that grace the X-treme Wrestling Federation. Luca Arzegotti. John Madison. Mr. Satellite. We’ve even gotten to know a lot about Ricky Desmond in his relatively short time here. But while we’ve gotten the occasional glimpse of your life, it’s remained hidden for the most part.
Shawn Steele: And it’s going to stay that way. You people know all that you need to know. You know more than you need to know. I made the mistake of letting that shit creep into the XWF in my first few weeks here. And look at where it got me. Laid out in the middle of the ring with my head split open. That was my mistake. My error. I let that life begin to bleed it’s way into this one. But that bleeding has been stopped.
Chad Lewis: I’m not sure I understand what you’re getting at.
Shawn Steele: It’s no secret that I’m not in this for the money. That’s why I was able to relate to Ricky Desmond’s attitude upon his debut. Hell, I thought we’d probably even get along. We had that same motivation in common. Neither of us need the money. We’re both well off, to say the least. Of course I didn’t get my money by running a fucking whore house, but my point remains the same.
Chad Lewis: Just how did you make your money if not in the wrestling business?
Shawn Steele: What the fuck did I just tell you Lewis? As far as you, and the rest of the X-treme Wrestling Federation is concerned, that life no longer exists. Shawn Steele did not exist until the moment my name was signed on that XWF contract. I’ve spent every day since The Connection kicked my ass getting all of that stuff sorted out. It’s all in good hands. And now, The Connection is in my hands. And that’s a very dangerous place for each of those cowards to be.
Chad Lewis: Okay, so the personal life is off limits. I can respect that. But there’s something else that’s piqued my curiosity. You seem to keep going back to mentioning The Connection, and understandably so, but you’ve entered your name into the Rumble this Monday night on Madness, where the winner gets their chance to face John Madison for his King of the XWF Crown.
Shawn Steele: And?
Chad Lewis: Well, it looks like the majority of the entire X-treme Wrestling Federation talent roster could end up being in that match come Monday night. Are you not focused on them as well as The Connection?
Shawn Steele: I don’t care about them.
Chad Lewis: How can you not care abou....
Shawn Steele: I. Do. Not. Care. I don’t care about who’s entering the Rumble in Brooklyn or who isn’t. Let Peter Gilmour win it. Or Sid Feder. Or Jesse Diaz. Or anybody else. I don’t care. I don’t care about John Madison. I don’t care about being the King of the XWF. I don’t care about any of it. I care about just one thing. I have just one goal going into that Rumble on Monday night on Madness, live in Brooklyn. And it’s the same one goal that I set out to accomplish last Monday night. The same goal I did accomplish last Monday night. No member of The Connection is going to win that Rumble. I’ll be seeing to that personally.
Chad Lewis: I understand that you’re not entering the Rumble on Monday night to win it, or at least you’re saying you’re not, but do you really just expect to climb into the ring on Monday night and not have someone like Evertrust pose a threat to your proclaimed goal?
Shawn Steele: I’m sure he will. I’m sure he’s going to pose a huge threat to me. And everyone else in the Rumble. But do I care?
Chad Lewis: I’m guessing no?
Shawn Steele: Hey you finally got one right Lewis. And it’s entirely possible that I will find myself going over the top rope on Monday night. If you want to win a match like this, you need to be solely on nothing but your own survival. So yeah. Evertrust is going to pose a threat. Everyone is going to pose a threat. Look at me. I’m a threat to all of them. I’m going to be one of the biggest and strongest guys in that ring on Monday night. I should be one of the first ones eliminated from this match. If they can do it. But here’s a little secret for you Chad. You don’t have to be in a match to make sure someone else doesn’t win it. So even if I am eliminated on Monday night, The Connection still doesn’t stand a fucking chance of having a future King of the X-treme Wrestling Federation in their ranks.
Chad Lewis: ... moving on. I know you say you don’t care about anyone other than The Connection come Monday night, but let’s play a little word association concerning your opponents, and potential opponents, for the Rumble in Brooklyn. Let’s start with.. Shocker.
Shawn Steele: I don’t care.
Chad Lewis: ... well okay. John Black.
Shawn Steele: I don’t care.
Chad Lewis: ... Dwayne Johnson.
Shawn Steele: I don’t care.
Clearly sensing the pattern and knowing how the rest of this is going to go, Chad Lewis sighs loudly but soldiers on.
Chad Lewis: Jessie Diaz.
Shawn Steele: I don’t care.
Chad Lewis: Mr. Radio.
Shawn Steele: I don’t care.
Chad Lewis: Peter Gilmour.
Shawn Steele: I don’t care.
Having had enough of the “I don’t care.” response, Lewis decides to cut this a bit short and instead move onto a name that he knows will achieve a different answer.
Chad Lewis: Andrew Morrison.
Shawn Steele: Pain.
Chad Lewis: I’m sorry?
His top lip curling slightly, Shawn leans forward in his chair slowly.
Shawn Steele: Pain. I’m going to cause Andrew Morrison unimaginable amounts of pain. The type of pain that .. at this very moment in time, Andrew Morrison doesn’t even know that this level of pain exists. Andrew Morrison is the most despised type of person on this planet. He’s a coward. He can talk a big game about wanting to face me one on one. We had an understanding before I even ever stepped foot in an XWF ring. We wanted to test ourselves in the middle of that ring. But what’s happened every chance that he’s had the opportunity to take that test? He’s showed what kind of coward he is by attacking me from behind. Along with his friends in The Connection. Mark my words Lewis. One day .. one day soon, Andrew Morrison is going to find himself standing in that ring, looking across at me. And his Connection buddies are going to no where to be found. And when that happens .... I don’t think I need to tell you what the end result is going to be.
Chad Lewis: I think we all know the general idea. And finally, before I let you go, you seem to have had a bit of an altercation with a newcomer by the name of Jordan Caliban.
Shawn Steele: Actually, Chad, I was attempting to avoid an altercation when I asked .. politely I might add, for his annoying mouth to be shut. But apparently Jordy is dead set on making a name for himself and apparently he wants to do it Monday night. Well, Jordy, I cordially invite you to come on down to the ring this Monday night in Brooklyn, and get yourself involved in the Rumble. And, like I said before, your ass is going in the third row. I don’t have the time to deal with the likes of Jordan Caliban right now. But if he’s so intent on making an impact, I’ll be sure his head makes an impact with the floor. If he wants to make a name for himself, in the X-treme Wrestling Federation or in life in general, it would be in his best interest to avoid the Rumble in Brooklyn on Monday night. Hell, it would be in the best interest of his survival to completely avoid the state of New York all together. Just sit back on your couch and watch what happens to every member of The Connection on Monday night. Then think over what you plan on doing. The same can be said for the rest of the XWF. You haven’t seen the real Shawn Steele just yet. You caught a glimpse last week. This week in Brooklyn, you’ll get to see just a little bit more. You should be looking forward to it. I know I am.
Finally leaning back in his chair again, Shawn smiles as the scene begins fading out.
